The day before his ordination, a young country boy finds out that the city where he is studying is lived by forlorn people and his education and faith begin to waver.  The world of the Koranic schools, where one becomes hoyatolesman, is portrayed with unusual satire and humour: fervent seminarians live together with others who are football fans; secular magazines and books circulate as alternatives to the Koran; chatting mixes with night prayers. Therefore, the protagonist finds out that the religion hides a different world, composed by blind beggars, alcoholic poets, young thieves and prostitutes. He starts to neglect his studies to be with these people who live under a bridge…
