Casim is a second-generation Pakistani immigrant and lives in Glasgow. He works as a DJ and his dream is to have his own club. His parents, Tariq and Sadia, are observant Muslims and are arranging a marriage for him with his beautiful cousin, Jasmine, who is about to arrive. Everything changes, however, when Casim meets Roisin, a music teacher at his sister Tahara’s school. Roisin is different from other people: she’s intelligent and independent. The two fall in love. But Casim’s parents would object to a relationship with a “white”. Not those things would be viewed better in Roisin’s Catholic environment. When the relationship is discovered events precipitate.
