The story follows a family living alone on a vast plateau surrounded by flocks of sheep. The family is formed by a sick grandfather, father, mother and their two mischievous children who have found two of the last condoms in their parents' stash and use them as balloons to play with. The time setting is not specified but it’s in the years when China's one-child policy was still very dominant and brutally applied. With the husband's libido, his wife's inability to say no to him and Tibetan religious and social traditions, but also the shortage of material goods such as condoms contradicted by the severity of the state family planning policy, problems are about to arise and affect the family.
