Jimmy Grimble is 15 and lives in Manchester. His dream is to become a soccer player. Thanks to the arrival of a new trainer, he joins the team, but when he plays in front of an audience, his skills disappear and he cannot move. Things are not much better at school: a mate is bullying him and Jimmy cannot say a word to the girl he likes. Besides, he is a Manchester City fan, when most of the people in his city prefer Manchester United. One day, a homeless lady gives him an old pair of shoes, once owned by a champion. Jimmy throws them away, but somehow he happens to have them back. He wears them and scores a goal. Could he do it thanks to the “magic” shoes?
