The Friedmans seem to have all the attributes of a respectable family. Arnold is a brilliant professor, while his wife, Elaine, the perfect homemaker, raises their three sons David, Seth and Jesse in the upper-crust suburb of Great Neck, Long Island. On the Thanksgiving Day’s eve, Arnold and his son Jesse are condemned for sexual abuse of children. The Friedmans had the habit of immortalizing their daily doings in hours of filming and they continue to do so even in jail and during a sensational trial. Michael Moore, with Bowling for Colombine, shows us how a documentary can be just as engrossing as fiction. This is further proof.
