Dilili is a mestizo Kanak young girl who arrives in Paris at the end of the nineteenth century, sneakily boarding the ship that brings back to France from New Caledonia the anarchist teacher Louise Michel, whom she becomes a disciple of. In the capital, she makes friends with Orel, a charming and kind delivery boy who knows the whole cultural and artistic world of the Belle Époque. Together with him (and thanks to the help of various personalities of the time), she will cross all of Paris in search of the so-called Male Masters, a gang of criminals who terrorize the city, robbing jewelers and kidnapping girls.
