Naples. Domenica is a young girl who lives in an orphanage. She has been raped and Sciarra, a policeman who is in the twilight of his career because of a serious illness, has to take her to the mortuary since she has to recognise her aggressor. Together they cross the city in a span of a day, when they start getting involved with each other’s lives. Domenica is longing to live, although or, maybe because, life has not been tender with her. She influences the disenchanted Sciarra who will regain fatherly feelings that seemed to have disappeared.
