After an accident Sami, 17, is taken to a youth ward of a mental hospital. The boy does not talk or show his feelings. Sami´s mother does not accept that her son was involuntarily taken from her. Sami would certainly be much better at home. Sami´s new roommate Rudolf would prefer staying at the hospital for good. A strange friendship develops between the two boys. A dedicated male nurse, Taneli, takes effort to reach Sami and find out, what has caused his “accident”. Homesick is a feature film about survival, care and hope.
