“Milan, 2005. Finding a job is crazy, work is crazy, the traffic is crazy, shopping is crazy, the bills are crazy. In the end, this day-to-day struggle to survive is something like life in wartime: a few people are making a lot of money, some people are managing to scrape by, but the majority of them are paying the price. We all complain, we're all unhappy - everybody, from the temps to the self-employed, feels they are in a precarious situation, that every day is precarious: and yet day after day we allow ourselves to be broken down and soaked up, one by one, in a competition in which it is every man for himself and there are no winners. The film takes an honest, piercing, ironic and anti-ideological look at this situation, not gentle on anyone, but in the firm conviction that there must be a way out.” (From the introduction to the film)
