Aimie is a young South Korean just arrived in the United States. She is in love with her best and only friend, Tran. She tries to express what she feels for him but is afraid of ruining their friendship. The complex relationship between the two of them is further complicated by the problems of living in a new country. To spend more time with Tran, Aimie skips several of the English lessons she is supposed to take, and she has troubled relations with her mother, who wants to remarry and also views Tran as a rival for her daughter's affections. Aimie is thus forced to do some soul-searching.
