Spain, 1920s. In a village in the middle of ‘La Mancha’, a little girl called La Quela sees a cardboard doll for the first time, and wants it, badly. Her family can’t possibly affort it. One day, her little friend and neighbour comes running to show her a brand new cardboard doll her parents just bought her. So her parents can do nothing but bring forward all they have to buy the doll. The two girls are the happiest beings until one day, all by herself, La Quela decides to give her dolly a bath…
