1943, France is under German occupation. Fanny, 13 years old, and her little sisters have been sent by their parents to OSE, an orphanage for Jewish children. When the Nazis arrive in Italy, the members of OSE make a desperate attempt to save the children, sending them to Switzerland. Fanny and her sisters are among those travelling towards the border. Eleven children, abruptly left to their own devices, will do all they can to reach the Swiss border and manage to survive.
