Milan, forty, has three children and works as a bricklayer in Germany to support his family in Slovakia. When returning home for the Christmas holidays, he discovers that his eldest son, Adam, has become a member of a paramilitary youth group. The boy is involved in bullying and the death of a classmate. Milan must decide what to do and at the same time, together with his wife, he comes to discover the whole truth about his son and also makes unexpected discoveries about his family and the community that surrounds them. He will have to face that fine line that keeps common men away from the use of violence against those they deem 'different'.
