Ryna is sixteen and lives in Romania in a village near the Danube delta. Her father, who wanted a son, has raised her as a boy. Ryna would like to get to know her mother, but the socio-economic situation in which they live (pseudo-freedom hiding the fact that economic power is in the hands of a few) is no help to her growth. Preserving her own identity in a society crushed between traditional values and consumerist materialism will not be an easy task.
