Nica, 21, gives up her studies in agronomy and returns home after three years of absence, in a small town near Taranto. There she finds her father crippled with debts, a polluted land, the olive trees devastated by a parasite. Everyone seems to have given up in the face of the vastness of the ecological disaster and her father is only waiting to tear down the family olive grove for pure economic speculation. Nica, with a fighting spirit inherited from her beloved grandmother, fights with all her strength to save those ancient trees.
