In four episodes this documentary paints a portrait of eight young people who have come to the Ticino to learn Italian and work as au pairs. The joy of finally being “out of the nest” is diluted by the difficulties of fending for themselves. The kids miss their old friends, are homesick for their families. They are forced to come to terms with a different language and culture, to learn to make do. And yet some of them also find love.
