Ireland, 1920. Farmers and rural workers unite to repel the British soldiers amassing in Ireland to prevent any attempt at inde- pendence. Damien, about to leave for London to practice medicine, decides to stay and fight by the side of his brother Teddy. The conflict will lead to a treaty with the English, but the victory is only apparent. Families will be divided between those satisfied with results and those who think that oppression merely masked a strategy.
